Henna on the streets of Adelaide ….
My Henna Patterns reach the streets of Adelaide on the 18th of May 2007…
I was part of an expo called, “Getting To Know You”, organized by a lovely woman, (who i totally admire for amazing organizing skills as i have none !!!!). I started painting with henna on anyone and everyone from all the walks of life and kept going for about 10 hours and more. *sign* it all ended so soon i wanted to go on painting forever !!! It’s a magical feeling when with just one touch of henna a person becomes my friend, trusts me with the most precious thing in life – their body, and let me read their souls to bring out their beautiful unique patterns to life.
I was gathered the whole day with beautiful people around me, waiting in a long line, not worrying about the time, not at all being impatient just standing in a crowd of friends, waiting for their turn to get a tiny piece of my work on them, only to try and experience something new which they can take home with them.
My favorite moment was when a small group of school kids arrived, who gathered around me gifting me with their beautiful presence and loving my work. It’s a blessing to be around tiny little children (especially when you don’t have to bring them home with you !!!) and to make them understand how blessed we are to be alive, how special each one of us are in our own little worlds. ( Don’t miss the kid on the right corner, looking straight into the camera, he’s just so cute!!!)
My space soon was turned into a nice comfortable little zone, where people were standing in line with strangers around them but feeling as if they were friends for ever. Amongst the many magical powers henna has, one of the most exciting one is – ” Henna builds the bridge of friendship between two strangers in a crowd”. People are amazingly patient with the slow line, as I am very slow when doing henna, as I like to treat my new friends properly and don’t like doing a quick job. I would rather have experiences with people, share our stories and give a few memorable moments to each other and then move on … don’t know where and what is in store to learn from so many beings.
While doing the henna, I was wondering about how someone could easily steel my art work that was displayed on the table open to anyone to watch, see and touch … but to my surprise people were taking care of my pieces much more than I was ! Within minutes I totally trusted anyone and everyone there. I feel one needs to open up our hands to make friends with everyone regardless of ages, sex, nationality and color. As a good friend Rosie, said just yesterday ” We are different but then again we are all very similar to each other. ” and that’s truly what i have always believed myself !
Thanks to all those people who gift me with memorable moments, while doing henna and also for supporting my work, as it wouldn’t have been anywhere without you. I hope I can in someway bring positivity in our lives today to sit back and enjoy our time here.

Hi I just thought I’d write to say I love your work and your energy. I believe things happen for a reason, your site just randomly popped up on my email even though I had never heard of you before.
(Glad I do now.)So figured I was meant to write to you. My name is Rebecca I am an art teacher from Adelaide but am currently working in Al Ain, UAE teaching art to national students. I am coming home for a few weeks in July and would love to meet you. I love talking about spriituality, art and travel…. you seem to be the perfect person for that. I know this is probably not the right place to write to you but your contact only had an australian number which is difficult to use with the phone cards here. Feel free to write to me on the above address, I would love to hear from you. Bye for now from Rebecca

I was recently blessed with one of your beautiful designs on my arm, when you came to the Tasmanian Craft Fair. I was suprised at how relaxing and soothing having the henna applied was. It was definatly the highlight of the day. I lost count of how many comments i received for the week the design lasted and will never forget what a wounderful person you are.
